Porsche 996 Turbo

The 996 model 911 Turbo had widened rear arches with large intakes , while a deeper front spoiler housed three more intakes . At the rear was a fixed spoiler with a section that raised at speed . A set of 18 inch wheels (a full 11 inches wide on the back) completed the aggressive look .

Power came from a 3.6 litre  flat 6 which produced 420 bhp while the maximum torque of 560Nm was available from 2700rpm to 4600 rpm . The unit was derived from the normally aspired 996 and fitted with twin KKK Turbochargers . The power was delivered to all four wheels using basically the same transmission as the Carrera 4 .

Brakes were uprated , with the option of Porsche Carbon Ceramic Brakes (PCCB) and with a 0 - 62mph time of just 4.2 seconds and a top speed of 189 mph , the 996 Turbo was hard to beat , especially because the power and  handling were so user friendly . This is a supercar that anyone could drive .
