Porsche Carrera 4S

The new Carrera 4S combined the wide Turbo bodyshell with the drivetrain of the standard Carrera 4 .  The Turbo`s front and rear bumpers , with their air intakes , remained , but the wide rear wings lacked any air intakes (they werent necessary for a normally aspirated engine) and , instead of the Turbo`s part fixed rear spoiler , the 4S had the standard cars fully retractable item . At the rear was a full width rear reflector which harked back to the style of the older 911`s .

However , there was more to the Carrera 4S than just good looks . The car boasted 320 bhp from a 3.6 litre naturally aspirated flat 6 motor and uprated suspension based on the Turbo which made the car sit 10mm lower than the standard Carrera . The brakes  also came from the Turbo which gave phenomenal stopping power and the wheels were also the 18 inch Turbo items . The Carrera  4S stayed in production until 2005.
